Kerr Wood Leidal

“It was the team as much as your proposal that made Red Rocket the clear choice for me for
this work. I really appreciate your patience, attention to detail, professionalism and just plain
good nature.”
—Joan Carter, Communications Manager, Kerr Wood Leidal

The Client

Kerr Wood Leidal (KWL) has been providing leading water engineering services since 1975. Their deep knowledge and understanding of local conditions and regulations provide their clients with leadership and reliability that deliver results.

The Challenge

With a recognizable logo KWL wanted to find a way to refresh their brand without losing any of their existing brand identity. At the same time they needed both design and development of a website that would allow them to showcase their expertise and knowledge in their field and give clients easy insight into their services.

With extensive information on projects and content that spanned many areas KWL needed a way to upload and organize data online easily and provide clients with logical access to company information.

The Solution

Taking the existing logo we developed the mark to use cleaner lines and a more modern font. We developed supporting graphic elements that built a brand identity that is now used across all areas of the company's collateral.

Developing the graphics further on the website we used cool crisp colours and clean lines to create an easy to use layout for the extensive content. The graphics were then integrated with beautifully strong landscape images to reflect KWL’s strong commitment to the environment.

Using Drupal for the website development allowed us to ensure KWL are able to easily manage their own site on a daily basis. With the integration of the user roles module staff are able to contribute to the site easily and it provides senior staff with a variety of editorial and approval privileges. With extensive content linking required we worked with KWL to create a well-structured site architecture and simple back-end content linking so users are able to see the many touchpoints in a KWL led project. This well-organized, searchable database ensures site users are able to access information easily and see the relationships between projects, people, location and expertise.
