In the face of sustained low silver prices and weak equity markets, IMPACT Silver continued to grow and meet key objectives in 2014. Its annual report needed to reflect market realities while communicating the positive steps management was taking to move the company forward. Red Rocket Creative was awarded the project, directed by IMPACT management to produce a document that was not only economical and realistic but also inspiring.
We developed the theme of “Discovery,” recognizing how IMPACT management was discovering many ways to keep the company resilient and responsive in the face of market headwinds. The theme also aligned with new, high-grade discoveries that were greatly helping IMPACT’s mining operations remain economical.
Our design team created a bold, silver-based colour theme using highlights of orange from IMPACT’s logo colours. The simple and understated cover featured contour lines of a geological map with the word “DISCOVERY” highlighted in a spot varnish. This clean, austere look was carried throughout the report to support management’s priorities of reining in costs and becoming more efficient while also working hard to keep the company growing.
The result was a report that reflected IMPACT’s bold, positive and proactive stance in a difficult market, helping shareholders understand that their company had a clear strategy for future prosperity.
